Welcome to my practice!
I have been licensed as a Psychologist in Ohio (P.7151) since 2014. A Columbus native, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Theology from Ohio Dominican University. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University. I completed my doctoral psychology internship and post-doctoral fellowship at counseling centers at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and the University of Maine in Orono, respectively. I then served as a staff psychologist and Assistant Training Director at Ohio University’s Counseling and Psychological Services. During my time at OU, I was the Coordinator of, and a Core Trainer for an experiential suicide prevention gatekeeper training program. Before starting my private practice, I worked for over two years with Affirmations Psychological Services in Downtown, Columbus.

How do these experiences direct my identity as a psychologist? I am trained as a generalist, and my therapeutic orientation integrates interpersonal, emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-based, humanistic, and solution-focused approaches. I enjoy working with diverse clients in a variety of services, including individual, couple, and group therapy, and have been fortunate to provide therapy in college and community mental health settings. In the context of a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship, I help clients discover and utilize what it is that provides them with meaning and purpose, self-worth, resiliency and healthy coping, and personal and relational growth. While I am competent to treat to a number of presenting concerns, specialized areas of clinical interest include spiritually integrated therapy and couple therapy. To highlight, my graduate research focused on the intersection among religion/spirituality, sexuality, and intimate relationships, and I continue to publish on this subject. Additionally, I am Certified as an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Therapist. I have completed an Externship, Core Skills training, individual supervision, and additional requirements for this certification by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). EFT has been groundbreaking in helping me understand and treat couples, and I attend ongoing consultation meetings with colleagues who are also trained in EFT.
In addition to my clinical work, I am dedicated to serving my community through outreach, including psychoeducational trainings and workshops on a variety of mental health topics. I have particular interest and experience in suicide prevention gatekeeper and referral trainings, and bring to my trainings past service coordinating a gatekeeper training program, advising a student group on suicide prevention, and participating as an executive board member on a local chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A different component of outreach includes providing support to fellow clinicians in training, as I have provided clinical supervision to graduate and post-doctoral students while in graduate school and working at university counseling centers. My strong background in clinical supervision and training highlights my love of learning, how I can pay forward the positive developmental experiences I had with my own supervisors, my desire to support the professional development of colleagues while growing myself, and a way to stay connected to emerging research and trends in the field.
One of the more frequent conversations I have with clients, trainees, and colleagues is the importance of maintaining balance in life. I try and model the type of balance I advocate for my clients. I value time outside to walk and kayak, bond with family and friends, take in music and cultural activities, attend hockey games, and develop my artistic and creative side through decorating and baking.
